Roland Darquoy was born in 1949 in Wissembourg / France.

From 1969 to 1973, goes to the Conservatory of Strasbourg for studying the piano and chamber music. At Strasbourg university, he studies german and musicology.Between 1973 and 1976, technical and musical "cure" with the piano vituoso Frank Chimani.Between 1974 and 1979, classical piano recitals and teaching the piano at "Schiller College France" (american students in residence in Europe)

In 1979 he meets the composer Yann Jaffrennou. He is fascinated by his Celtic piano pieces , and after only three months he gives a series of "Unlimited Piano" concerts in Strasbourg and in Alsace.Since 1981 he is a full-time piano teacher at the "School for music and interpretative arts" of Buehl/Baden - Germany.

In 1983, 30 concerts in France and Germany with the Trio "Singin' Gershwin".1985 first solo performance in Germany with celtic piano pieces of Yann Jaffrennou at "Frankfurter Ring" in Francfort.1988: with "9 Piano trips between the worlds" he performs and gives a workshop at "Freies Musikzentrum" of Munich.1995 participation at a classical Summer music festival "Hohenloher Kultursommer" in cooperation with his wife as a speakerin: Celtic legends like "King Arthur" and the "Sinking of Ys".1997: "Alternative piano ": a solo piano performance with miscelleanous pieces of Yann Jaffrennou in connection with an interview with the composer.

1998: First performance under the title of "Pianosagen" (Pianomyths) with tales, myths and legends of the celtic, indian and american cultural spheres. The duo "Pianomyths" with R.Darquoy, piano & Vesna Darquoy, speakerin is born.

2000 - 2002: The "German-indian Society" gets interested by "Raga Piano" & Indian tales. Some very successful performances in Baden-Baden, Heidelberg, Darmstadt and Mayence. In connection with Z.I.P. Heidelberg ("Centre of Intercultural Psychology") he gets the opportunity to record 9 Ragas on the biggest Grand piano of the world (Fazioli 308).
